Mark your calendars! Summer Institute 2017 is scheduled for July 10th through July 13th, 2017, in Sacramento, California on the campus of a K-6 HET public charter school, Yav Pem Suab Academy (pronounced Yah Bay Shua).
In addition to visits to classrooms throughout the school, there will be three classrooms with children to observe – K, 2, and 5. There will be two strands of training:
The schedule for both strands includes classroom observations, personal work time, and individualized feedback.
Who should attend? This event is specifically designed for teachers and principals but also highly appropriate for administrators at every level, leadership teams, curriculum developers, specialists, board members, support staff, and parent representatives. Work and discussion groups will be formed for like groups.
Strand 1 will include:
Personal work time will be provided to develop an implementation plan for refining your environment, working with the Lifelong Guidelines/LIFESKILLS, making collaboration more productive, targeting your instructional strategies, and begin conceptual key points and inquiries based in a being there experience. You will leave with a detailed plan for your first day of school and an outline of a plan for your first week.
Strand 2 will include:
Personal work time will be provided to expand your implementation plan and develop a topic (key points and inquiries) in a yearlong theme. Additional HET practitioners will be available to provide individualized feedback on your curriculum.
Please note that space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

For 11 or more people registering from the same school, there is a 10% discount.
With 10 or more attending from the same school, the principal attends as our guest.
Early registration is recommended as space is limited due to visitation to model classrooms and individualized feedback on curriculum.
